A new Star Wars movie.  Nothing more needs to be said to attract millions of people to the movie.  Expectations could not be higher for the movie, and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story managed to deliver on those expectations and more.  It has earned a 85% rating on Rotten Tomato’s tomatometer, and a 89% audience score.

For any Star Wars fan, this movie is a dream come true.  Through brilliant acting, stunning CGI and a riveting plot, this movie brings back all of the best parts of the classic movies such as “Empire Strikes Back” and “A New Hope.”  When the famous war cry, “Rebellions are built on hope,” was recited, the audience burst into cheers. This was only one of the many moments that led to applause.  Other such moments included when CGI brought back younger actors in a cutting edge and unique fashion. Along with all of the thrilling flashbacks, this movie brought its own undeniable appeal.

As is the case with all Star Wars movies, Rogue One had a diverse and fantastic cast to head the movie.  Felicity Jones’ Jyn Erso was a lead whom the audience could connect with and root for.  She was surrounded by a strong group of support actors, and as always fun and loveable droids.

The movie serves mostly as a stand alone film, however its plot fully falls in line of that one the whole cinematic universe.  Rogue One reveals the complete story of the construction of the Death Star, and the Resistance’s capture of its blueprints. The movie offers a thrilling new story in a classic, well established universe.

Despite the small flaws in the movie, it accomplishes its primary goal: to entertain the audience.  Rogue One is an action packed movie, with engrossing fight scenes and powerful storylines throughout the film.
