“This geographic balance will enable us to raise our son with an appreciation for the royal tradition into which he was born, while also providing our family with the space to focus on the next chapter,” the couple said.  Meghan and Harry made a life-altering decision no one saw coming. They have decided to split from the royal family. The couple wants to remove the harsh press and assumptions that come with being in the royal family and to do so they will become financially independent from the Queen.

Harry grew up royal.  He doesn’t know what life outside of the royal family is like.  Meghan, on the other hand, lived a normal life in California. When Meghan and Harry announced their engagement, many were skeptical that someone like Meghan would not be able to handle the “royal pressure.”  Since their marriage in May of 2019, the couple has been faced with offensive and harmful bullying from the press. The couple claims this was the reason for their departure. But on January 8th no one was expecting what was going to be announced.  Meghan and Harry announced to their families and to the public that they would be leaving the royal family. The entire world was caught off guard, especially the Queen.

Meghan and Harry sat down with the Queen later in the week to talk about the statement they just delivered to her.  Eventually, the Queen did allow for the couple to depart from the family and claims: “Although we would have preferred them to remain full-time working Members of the Royal Family, we respect and understand their wish to live a more independent life as a family while remaining a valued part of my family.”

The couple has said they feel like a weight has been lifted off their shoulders and they are looking forward to the future.

This story will take a long time to fully unravel, but what we know is that from this day forward the royal family will never be the same.
