I asked a variety of students how they intend on spending their Valentine’s Day… here were some of their responses:

“Probably just eating chocolate… a lot of chocolate.”

“I’m just going to watch The Notebook and any other romcom I can find on Netflix.”

“My Dad always gets me the Godiva Valentine’s Day chocolate box.”

“Go to CVS and buy myself a ton of candy.”

“Going out to dinner with my boyfriend. I think somewhere in New Canaan, I guess we’ll see!”

“Scroll through social media and roll my eyes every time someone posts with their significant other. Ugh. I don’t like Valentine’s Day.”

“I’m going to surprise my boyfriend! He goes to college an hour or so away and has no idea I’m coming!”

“Eat a lot of food and self loathe for three hours.”

“Honestly, I didn’t even know Valentine’s Day was tomorrow.”

“Me and my best friend were going to buy chocolate cake and eat it, just the two of us. Probably from Carvel. I love ice cream cake.”

“My twin sister and I are going out to dinner!”

“I think going out to dinner, but he probably forgot to make a reservation. It wasn’t my choice.”

“Spa day! I’m going to get a facial and full body massage and a mani/pedi!”

“Eating a dinner for two by myself and hanging with my dog.”

“Facetiming her. Long distance relationships are hard.”

“I have basketball practice. And then after that, I don’t know, probably hanging with the boys.”

“I’m just going to try and forget about the holiday as a whole.”

“Serenading my love. I don’t know the song yet, but I’m open to suggestions!”

“I have to work… and I work at a restaurant, so I’ll have to see all these couples and yeah… hopefully I will get a lot of tips.”

“Cooking a romantic dinner of spaghetti and meatballs… for one… and watching Big Mouth.”

“Dinner… maybe movies. I’m not sure. We’re pretty basic.”

“I bought one of those roses, you know, the ones the hockey team is selling, and I sent it to, wait, that’s supposed to be a secret.”

As for myself, I’ll probably order the heart shaped pizza from Domino’s and watch How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.
