“I think that young art students are very inspiring.”-Julie Evans-Kaser

About Julie:

As all the teachers in the art department are referred to by their first names, Julie is one of the best. Despite growing up in Portland, Oregon, she has proudly spent her entire teaching career at John Jay. She developed a love for art at a very young age and has followed her passion all throughout her life. When Julie was in high school, her greatest mentor was one of her teachers; she found that being able to echo other artist’s pieces help in developing control over your own artistic abilities. One of Julie’s greatest accomplishments as a teacher is watching her students find a talent that they didn’t know they had. She enjoys seeing her students learn how to observe and create art as well as being able to explore and exploit their creative sides.
