This week on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday the musical Legally Blonde will be performed at John Jay High School. Auditions were held on January 3rd and 4th and the actors got their roles on January 8th. Since then, they have been working every day after school from 3 to 6 p.m. and on weekends to deliver the best show possible. Because of all the hard work put into this play, the cast and crew get varsity option and don’t have to participate in gym class. The cast has had it since they began choreographing the dance numbers and the crew gets it the week of the play due to all the heavy lifting they have to do. The two leads Maddy Galgano and Cole Georgi play Elle Woods and Emmett Forrest.  

This week is spirit week to show our support for the play. Monday is wear a college T-shirt Day, Tuesday is White Out, Wednesday is Y2K day, Thursday is Pink Out, and Friday is Frat Day. Shows are on Thursday, March 14 at 7 p.m., Friday, March 15 at 7 p.m., and Saturday, March 16 at both 1 and 7 p.m. Tickets are sold to students and senior citizens for five dollars and to adults for ten dollars. The money from the tickets sold goes back into the theater program to continue producing amazing shows.
