NBA Preseason Analysis

The 2017-18 NBA season looks to be one of the most interesting seasons in NBA history. With star players signing new contracts in free agency and being traded to new teams, this season sure seems like it will be a good one.

This NBA offseason started out with the Chicago Bulls trading star player Jimmy Butler to the Minnesota Timberwolves for Zach Lavine. The Timberwolves are a young, up and coming team that are looking to challenge their division rivals with young stars such as Andrew Wiggins, Karl-Anthony Towns, and their newest addition, Jimmy Butler.

The next big move of the offseason occurred only 6 days later when point guard Chris Paul was traded to the Houston Rockets  for 7 bench players and a 2018 1st round pick. This trade will benefit the Rockets hugely as now they have a strong player to complement the MVP runner-up James Harden. This move will set the Clippers into a rebuilding process as their current players give them no chance to win a championship.

The final big move of the offseason was the trade between the defending Eastern Conference Champions, the Cleveland Cavaliers, and their Conference rivals, the Boston Celtics. The trade saw the Cavs acquire point guard Isaiah Thomas and Jae Crowder in return for superstar Kyrie Irving. This blockbuster deal looks to benefit both sides as they both are trying to compete for a championship this coming season.

According to USA Today The Cavs, Warriors, Celtics and Rockets are projected to be the top 4 teams of this NBA season. All these teams besides the Warriors (Defending Champions) made major moves this offseason. This season has an incredible outlook and should be fun to watch for all basketball fans.
